I watched my first Christmas movie this weekend...which one was it?  See below! One of my favorites!

Planning Planning Planning

Gosh, I love planning...plan plan plan that's all I like to do. I plan a lot of things for work, like a video shoot in LA. One would assume that if I plan a lot of things at work I wouldn't want to plan things in my personal life, sadly I can't help it. So what am I planning?

Sadly no vacations, damn recession has put a damper on any future plans for now. Luckily the holiday's are right around the corner (kind of)....so I have lots of things to plan and look forward to. The holiday season is just pure wonderfulness...it brings so many wonderful things into my life...things I get to plan and enjoy. Stoneaween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Holiday Cocktail Parties, Christmas Dinner, New Years Eve....the list goes on and I love everything on it.

Gosh, I know I just yelled at the stores for bringing Christmas to us early, so I ask you this.  Is it to early to plan for the holidays?  I say no, so long as your tree and village pieces stay in the closet until Black Friday.

I'm so stoked for this movie!  Too early for the holidays?  Yes, I'm even writing a rant about such nonsense, but this movie trailer is to good!

Official start of the holiday season?

Last week I was browsing the Halloween candy at Target and I came across a small section of CHRISTMAS merchandise...decorations to be exact.  CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS in SEPTEMBER!?  WHAT!?  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas, it's such a magical time of year BUT come on people, Christmas merchandise in September? It makes no sense.  Whatever happened to the days when the stores would magically transform into a winter wonderland the day after Thanksgiving? As a kid, it was such a beautiful feeling to visit the Amsterdam Mall (yes we HAD a mall) and see all the Christmas decor just "magically" appear.  Now? They start stocking the shelves as soon as they sell the Halloween stuff off. It's a travesty. At least wait until November! So when does the holiday season start for you? 

For me it used to be when the stores started selling Christmas stuff, now that must change, I'll wait for the red holiday cups from Starbucks.  Should be any day now!

Starbucks is red again!

Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit like a red Starbucks cup! I saw my first dozen yesterday and I look forward to seeing many more over the next month and few weeks. Christmas is closer than we think...goodness time flies...

Snow Snow Snow

Was anyone else feeling festive yesterday? It honestly felt like Christmas time in downtown Saratoga yesterday. I was super close to whipping out my Christmas playlist. I guess it's a bit to early...on the other side of things...I'm craving the sun and a pool or ocean. Come January I'm going to need some relief from the winter madness...start saving your dollars my friends...a trip will certainly be in order.

First Christmas CD of the Year

October 20th? Holy crap! This month (which has been pretty damn awesome) is flying by. Blink once and November will be upon us. Blink twice and we'll be in the midst of December and the holiday season. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and as the stores start shifting their pumpkins to make room for Santa, musicians start releasing their holiday CDs. I purchased my first holiday CD of the year by the lovely Kristin Chenoweth, and it is a great addition to any one's collection. I'm being bit by the holiday bug and I like it. Christmas can never come too early...well maybe it can.

Christmas in September?

I LOVE CHIRSTMAS, but Christmas in September? Give me a break. Let’s not forget that there is a “reason for the season” and it’s not to see who can get there Christmas merchandise up first. Being a former Roman Catholic, the reason of Christmas was to celebrate the birth of Jesus, now I use this season to appreciate all the amazing gifts in my life (and to add pieces to my Dept. 56 Village). I’m starting to admire Judaism for the sole reason that their holiday’s are still rooted in faith NOT commercialization. I’ve always struggled with my faith and I feel the need to rediscover something. But what? I’m not sure. Anyway Merry Christmas 80 some odd days in advance.
